Responsibilities

Noblis is hiring a Systems Engineer / Requirements with a TS/SCI clearance in Chantilly, VA. 

 

Senior Systems Engineer with an emphasis on the elements associated with high level requirements development and derivation for systems designed to achieve the space resiliency mission.  Supports the development of a complete and through requirements portfolio through which space resiliency design and acquisition development activities can be linked.  Supports the construction of higher level coherent system and functional requirements baselines, aligned with enterprise level requirements efforts.  Facilitates system development/ acquisition efforts by supporting/reviewing the derivation of program and project level requirements decks from the higher level source material.

 

Responsibilities

  • Works with the developments teams to ensure cross-team alignment on high level design requirements, system requirements, product requirements, and technological feasibility
  • Provides guidance on technology performance benchmarking
  • Oversees technical assessments, e.g., design review assessments
  • Prepares actionable recommendations to the program office and senior leadership on technical risks and issues
  • Reviews, recommends and coordinates on major program acquisition documentation, to include: acquisition strategies; acquisition program baselines; analysis of alternative guidance
  • Reviews and analyzes subsystem specifications and designs
  • Decomposes high-level requirements into functional and non-functional requirements
  • Write system level documentation
  • Provides systems engineering support throughout the entire life cycle of the system

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain an ACTIVE TS/SCI Clearance and be able to obtain additional clearance tickets or a polygraph as required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience as project manager or engineering lead or engineering manager on major system acquisitions

Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following duties:

  • Technology management

  • Systems engineering

  • Systems integration

  • Continuous process improvement

  • Performance benchmarking

  • Risk management

  • Quality assurance

Additional skills needed:

  • Demonstrated implementation of requirements management on large-scale development systems

  • Strong understanding of requirements management practices that produce large systems

  • Strong writing skills for reviewing and analyzing requirements documentation coupled with project management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity and a broad knowledge of the system design, build, and deployment

  • Demonstrated understanding of technical content and the ability to communicate well with subject matter experts

  • Knowledge and experience writing system specifications and statements of work

  • Experience conducting requirements analysis and decomposing product requirements

  • Experience in performing system engineering functions, developing schedules, planning for technical reviews, quantifying and mitigating risks/issues, monitoring technical performance measures, and verifying requirements

  • Understanding of the acquisition lifecycle, technical activities and timelines, associated documentation, certifications, and dependencies

  • Knowledge and familiarity with satellite systems
